Saving Data from Excel

The ribbon “Save” writes the current values from Excel into the data base. It usually requires the HAKOM time series format (An exception to this is saving data via KISS-A template). The three checkboxes provide additional options.

All Values Valid

All values are written to the data base, regardless of their color coding. If this function is deactivated, time series values are transferred to data base with their true status. Therefore, the colors in Excel are consulted. Colors which are not defined are viewed as “valid”.

All Work Sheets

If this checkbox is activated, the time series of all work sheets of the current work book are considered when saving.

Roll Out

The function “roll out” enables to save data of the current date area on future periods, which are not displayed in the current work sheet. Please note, that only values with status “missing” are overwritten. Status of extrapolated values is always “estimated”. So if you need values for days where no data is present and date is expected to stay similar, this may be a solution for you. You can specify the settings for a roll out via the gear symbol:

  • No. of days:
Defines the number of days, where values shall be rolled out.
  • Days
    • Mo-Fr, Sat, Sun: The last value of Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday is applied for all Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays within the defined interval. Saturday values are applied for all Saturdays and Sunday values are applied for all Sundays.
    • Mo, Tu-Th, Fr, Sat, Sun: The last value for Monday is applied for all Mondays within the defined interval. The last value for Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday is applied for all Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays within the defined interval. The last value for Friday is applied for all Fridays within the defined interval.  Same is true for Saturdays and Sundays.
    • Mo, Tu, We, Th, Fr, Sat, Sun: The last value for the specific weekday is applied for all the according weekdays.
  • Holidays
All defined special days like holidays are applied for holidays of the same type. You can choose the db-connection as well as the region, where holidays are read out.
  • Mode
    • Standard: The days are distinguished by type (Weekday/Holiday). If you roll out over a year for example, every day of type i1 has value j1, every day of type i2 has value j2 and so on.
    • Month: The value of each daytype is calculated per month (Attention: This does not apply to holidays of a type > 7). Example: The daytype 3 has the value x in January, y in February and z in March.
    • Quarter: Similar to mode "Month", the value of each daytype is calculated per quarter.

Processing Units When Writing

When values are written to data base, the units specified in the template are converted to the time series' unit in the database. If the necessary converting time series do not exist, the TSM cannot process the unit and an error message is displayed in the progress report.

E.g. “No conversion time series from kW to Nm³/h found!”
